Use your Vacation days
I came accross an article on msnbc, a study conducted by Right Management, which stated that 66% of American employees didn’t use their vacation days in 2009.
Remember that last year was the year of double digit unemployment rates. It appears that employees felt that by being at their desks (not taking vacation) they could prove their commitment and value to their respective organizations!
But I feel that you would demonstrate your value to the organization better by taking vacation. In fact, if you were to take an extended vacation (atleast one to two weeks) in one go, the impact would be greater. My reasoning is that by taking vacation you give people the opportunity to miss your work and by default see your value.
